This was a thigh-bustin', lung-expanding hike thankfully done in early spring because I can't fathom doing this in any sort of heat.
We went clockwise and incorporated Jackass Trail.  Urban legend says the # minutes to top of Sizer should be < your age in years). I did it in 47 minutes and I am 57, so that's the good news. The bad news was when he wad a second major ascent — everyone groaned ad wondered if a helicopter rescue was possible. But we did it, though it did take a solid 8 hours (including breaks and several snake crossings, and one tick on pants removal, plus waiting for a fellow hiker who needed to nap before finishing.) Reminded us we should ALWAYS have walkie talkies. The stream crossing wasn't too bad but next time I need to bring a shoe horn so I can get my boots back on after crossing in tevas.
