Well maintained trail, manicured, organized and easy to navigate, very popular and crowded, trail running event was just held last week of June.  This is long and narrow trail but consistent inclination, 50% shaded.  Big parking space on top of the mountain, the geographical landmark is at the south upper corner with the memorabilia of Benjamin Wilson, beautiful scenery over looking East and South LA. After 7 miles of climbing, you can take a rest and buy some snacks at the Observatory Center if it is opened, unfortunately it was closed, I guess it is only opened during weekends. Mt Wilson Observatory is around the corner, you might as well explore the area about 1-2 miles. Insects were not too bad.
