The 3-2-1 peak challenge (Pinos, Sawmill, and Grouse) proved to be pretty tricky but definitely manageable. Today's conditions included sloshy and icy trails, which made the trail very easy to slip on, especially while hiking downhill. But hiking boots and trekking poles sufficed for the hike; there was not enough heavy snow to warrant crampons. The aforementioned snowy matches were usually met with intermittent runs of moist and muddy soil. The ascents proved to be a little more tiring just due to the snow, but not insanely difficult. I would say the downhill was still the hardest part due to me trying not to slip and also trying to save my knees.
But aside from the trail, the weather was a perfect for hiking as it was in the mid 60s and sunny. The trees were giving off a pungent piney smell and a soft wind was always howling through the surrounding, creating a really cathartic experience.
