Fantastic day on Black Crater with the Bend Hiking Meetup! Hit the trail at 7:15am and donned microspikes a out a mile from the summit. The actual trail disappears under snow fields, so used GaiaGPS to stay on course. Weather and conditions were perfect, and lots of wildflowers beginning to bloom.

2 hours from trailhead to the summit and 1:40 back down.

Met one solo hiker on his way down as we ascended. On our way down we counted 20 people making their way uphill.

Microspikes and trekking poles are highly recommended this weekend, though with the warm weather, that will change fast.
