Snowshoed to Mt. Pinos Peak with Hike Beyond The Hills, total 3.7 miles round trip, with 600’ elevation gain…and so much snow! We got there at 830am on my 4WD and I didn’t need snow chain. There were patches of ice on road, but that melted by the afternoon. The Nordic Base Parking Lot was almost full by 830am. We used microspikes the first half mile, then switched to snowshoes after. We literally went straight up to the peak. Perfect day to snowshoe!
