It was a long trek to get to the trailhead and coming out at 7 am, there was a little ice on the road in. It was COLD! We accessed the conditions and decided to give it a go. Such a long drive here-and it was worth every minute! The entire trail was snowed in. After about 1/4 mile in, we donned our snowshoes.

This was not a difficult hike, and there were plenty of footprints to follow to the meadow. There were very few people on the trail on the way up. Upon reaching the meadow, it was a sea of white. Under the blue sunny sky, this was an amazing sight. The snow was hardened, crunchy and easy to maneuver in it. We climbed to the top- this would have been moderate in normal conditions, but with snowshoes, it was a haul.

What an exhilarating experience! My first peak of the year and my first to ever snowshoe. This was a memory I will not soon forget.
