We started the hike from the Vincent Gap parking lot a little before 7am. The whole trail was pretty much switchbacks the whole way up. It was a little chilly in the morning, but very pleasant hiking weather. We encountered the first ice patches 1.5 miles up the trail, where we needed to start using our microspikes. The snow got progressively thicker the higher we got, but the trail became easier to walk on as it transformed from thin layers of ice to thick covers of snow. It was really beautiful with all the snow and the clear sunny skies. We got to the summit in a little under 2 hours where we got to see awesome views of snow covered Mount Baldy the cloud covered Inland Empire to the southeast and the Antelope Valley to the north. After chilling at the top for about 15-20 min, we began our descent back to the Vincent Gap trailhead. We finished the total hike in just under 3 hours.
