We started from Chantry Flats on 1/26/2018. There was hardly anyone there since we hiked on Friday. It was cold when at first but soon became perfect hiking weather. We did have a quick stop at Sturtevant Camp, took some photos and swung on the swing before continuing on. Roughly 7 miles to the top, mostly shaded, well maintained trail. The Cosmic Café was closed but the area was super clean. After almost an hour break we started going down and were sad to see the burned area. Looks like the fire was very close to the top. Overall great hike, almost 15 miles since we took back the Upper Trail. One down and five more to go #sixpackofpeaks!
