Late morning start on a Monday less than A mile in passed a guy on a mountain bike heading down. After that I didn’t see anyone! Some downed trees before and just after horseshoe meadows seems to have been this way for a while. Weather was 80* at the hottest, went the dry lake route up to the plate wreckage and the summit, took exactly 8hrs. This was really my first hike in a while so my pace was slow, plus I knew I was camping at the summit. Was pretty windy up top as expected. Headed down early in the morning, took the cut down to dollar lake and back to the South Fork trailhead. Coming down took 4h 45m approx 23.8 miles.

How was the air quality? Any smoke coming through?
Sadly yes, probably half the cause of my headache and the sun set probably almost an hour early because of the thick layer, same with the sun rise. Views weren’t really all that spectacular (still nice) but not the normal views of the distance.
