I confirmed with the ranger station a day prior to my hike about permits for day hiking here and San Gornio. I was informed that permits are not required for day hikes at these two Mts. at this time. You can still obtain them several ways and all of the info is on their website. The hike was challenging as it’s a steady hike to the peak. It’s a very nice trail and absolutely beautiful. The last mile of the hike was harder. Beautiful views of Big Bear and other peaks. This hike felt very long and my legs are still sore after two days but happy I was able to push myself and summit this Mt. Not a lot of people on the trail – saw around 10 hikers the entire time. My 1st time hiking this many miles!!
