This was another solo summit.  I started early, just after the sunrise.  It didn't take long after the sun came up for the weather to warm up quickly.  I'm not a fan of hot weather, but that's what I got.  Even though I came prepared with plenty of water and electrolytes, I do feel that the heat slowed me down some. I was lucky enough to meet several kind people throughout the day to share a few miles and conversation with.  I stopped for a lunch break at the Lewis Tarn and recharged.  The summit was gorgeous and busy with plenty of others around to soak in the views with.  I mistakenly got off of the main trail a bit on the way down, making my descent take quite a bit longer than it needed to.  The boulder field gets the best of me every time! I met a ranger at the edge of the forest trail who was checking permits.  It was here that I ran into someone that I met on the red mile.  It was nice to have someone to share the rest of the trail with as we headed back toward the parking lot.  All in all, it was a very good day!
