This was a long drive for me from LA and I was still recovering from a trip from Alaska that I returned from yesterday.  Despite the lack of sleep I managed to make the three and a half hour drive but the issue was parking.  It was pretty packed by the time I got there forcing me to try a risky spot that didn’t pay off.  I got stuck but I figured I’d deal with that when I returned (this was at the back of my mind the entire time so I didn’t enjoy myself).

The hike was pretty straight forward but completely exposed.  The best part was the magnificent ocean views complete with the sound of crashing waves for most of the hike.  It wasn’t a very difficult hike but it did take time.  Aside from the parking mishap (which required a call from AAA to remedy) and seeing a rattlesnake on the trail everything was fine.  I’d probably do this one again even though Hazard Peak appears to be in the same area.
