The weather conditions today were perfect for this hike. Skies were clear and a beautiful blue color. There were no obstructions to visibility. Although it was warm in the sun, there was a strong breeze, which helped to keep it comfortable. At higher elevations, the wind was strong and gusty, but not dangerous. The views were outstanding. Granite Mountain is unique, with large, round boulders scattered everywhere. The trail is challenging, but easy to follow and generally in good condition. I would rate this hike on the easy side of moderate.
