We started our ascent at 7:39am and reached the summit at 10:13am. This hike is fairly easy until the last half mile. At that point it’s basically a climb straight up to the summit. Also, once you start the Sitton Peak trail (last mile) it is very over grown so I would recommend pants. A bunch of spiderwebs along the whole trail that will end up in your face, which is a new experience for myself and my hiking partner. The bugs weren’t bad until the way down when it warmed up. It was a cloud morning which kept the temps cool and we didn’t see the sun until our descent. We started our descent at 11:10am and finished at 1:26pm! We did not see a single soul on the trail, probably because it was a Thursday morning. Make sure to sign in on the little post when starting the hike! A lot of beautiful wild flowers along the trail and we saw a few hawks flying above. Overall a pleasant hike and the summit has some nice rocks to sit on and enjoy the view! My Apple Watch logged the ascent at 4.79 miles with an elevation gain of 1,694ft and the descent was 4.95 miles and a gain of 422ft. Happy trails!
