Pretty hot day but forecast said cloudy in the afternoon, that was a lie. No cloud coverage, but a decent breeze made it tolerable. There were amazing views the whole way. You could just imagine dinosaurs roaming around, see the water erosion over eons, and you’re higher than the sedona airport. It’s kinda like the hike that never ends, even though it’s only 2.5 miles up to the top. You go from red dust, to red rocks, to high desert, to croissant-layered style rocks, to almost forest, to dirt, and finally a summit where you can still see the snow on Humphreys. It still remains my favorite Sedona trail.
