It snowed a week before our hike, and we were a bit worried about the trail condition as I had seen some photos from the week before the trail was heavily covered in snow. Fortunately, we were blessed with the perfect hiking weather and the trail condition. There were some patches of snow on the trail, and one area melted snow was running down between the rocks on the trail, which made our long 5-mile assent fun and exciting.  We took our time and enjoyed each changing scenery
The view from the summit was breathtaking with the sweeping green valley below our feet! It was worth the hike.
We took the service road on the way down and it shortened the hike.
