The summit was AMAZING! First time summiting this peak. We started before sunrise… exiting the car , we heard howling coyotes which added to the eeriness.
Headlamp. Check. Took me awhile to find my groove. Beautiful everything. We hiked below the fog , through it and above it. It was quite mystical that day.  It didn’t feel real? So many different terrains due to the past burns etc.

I really loved this hike even though it was my most challenging or my top 2 hardest EVER.
I dealt with elevation sickness when we reached 9000 feet. HOWEVER, I was NOT going to turn around. I had to really push myself . “I can do hard things” was my mantra.

At the top, I sheltered down under a tree . It was windy and we had obstructed views.
BUT Big Bear Lake was showing off that day! It was such a cool perspective seeing Big Bear from this peak.

Our group went at our pace. I did make it back to the car JUST in time. Darkness hit minutes later. Phew.
This hike was challenging but so rewarding.
