So I learned from my Mt. Wilson hike that leaving “extra” early might be a wise decision. I started my hike at 4:30 am, and had to use a head lamp for the first hour and a half. I didn’t realize how rocky the terrain was going to be, which made for slow going until sunrise. The peak was incredible! Very nice views of the valley below. I was easily the first hiker on the trail and hardly any hikers coming up as I was heading down. Weather wasn’t too hot, and I overpacked water as I learned my mistake from Mt. Wilson. Last 2 miles of the hike my legs really didn’t wanna move very fast(even with hiking poles). Glad I finished this hike. 2 down, 4 to go…
