I did this hike on Labor Day and two days after hiking San Gorgonio from South Fork. Unlike the previous hike, I didn't have a late start on this hike but started out at 6:15 AM. Surprisingly there were only a few cars at the trailhead on Labor Day – normally the parking area at the trailhead would already be fully at 6:00 AM on weekends and holidays. The hike was leisurely done. There were wildflowers coming out. There were a few hikers out on this day including some who had backpacked over the weekend and were heading back to their cars. The weather was good this day. I got to the summit around 1:15 PM and stayed there until 2:00 PM. I made it back to the car at 5:40 PM with plenty of daylight left.
