Excellent steady climb on this trail. The stats on this hike make it sound difficult yet it’s so steady you don’t realize how far you’ve come. The beginning of the trail is wooded and the higher you get the views continue to improve. Excellent view of Lassen Peak from here!
If you keep going past the peak it takes you to some side slope near a neighboring peak. We turned around as the trail narrowed.
The road to the trailhead is washboard at times yet passable by car from Rt 44. Allow extra time for the travel:)
