Got to the trail head feeling a bit nervous about the heat – especially since I got there about an hour and a half later than I wanted to. But I went ahead and was quickly calmed by the first few miles. Very mellow great view and clearly marked. Some shade in places, though not enough on the hike back. The last mile or so was rough. Blazing sun, no shade, and straight up. I finally made it to the top and was rewarded with spectacular views. And as a treat I brought some strawberries to eat at the summit. Best idea I ever had they were so juicy and delicious, definitely gave me a good kickstart to the descent. Getting back to the trailhead in the heat was brutal. Definitely didn’t bring enough water, and I was the only one on the trail on the descent – I guess that was my hint it was too hot. Overall amazing trail and great experience!
