It started out cold. We bundled up. Parked across from the visitor center in a smaller lot, maybe for approx 5 cars or so. Headed up the trail. It was in good condition. Just was pretty narrow on some spots. Saw a good amount of hikers and mountain bikers descending as we came up. Had to share the road. A little sketchy on the more narrow parts. Lots of gravel and rocks. Gaiters and trail runners with good traction helped. There were a few “fake” summits at the beginning of trail. Once we summited, the views were amazing. Clear day. Lots of summit signs to take pics with. Foliage was beautiful and green, but it was March. Lol. Started roughly at 9. Ended roughly at 4.
