Took the mountaineers route. Started off sunny, but then in the afternoon it started getting super windy and a bit rainy on and off. Really relaxing walk with vast skyline, then at the top it got super rocky. I was actually pretty hungry midway through the last stretch so I needed to take a rest which cut out my time quite a bit. As I got to the top, there was this photographer. The intention was to walk the loop of the mountain. The photographer was saying to go one particular way to get to the carpark. Actually I later figured out he was talking about a different carpark. He also said to continue the loop to go down this massive drop, which was “the trail”. I started to walk, stopped at the edge, looked down, my tummy going up from the height, and then deciding to turn around to head back from where I came from, despite the timing.  This led the hike to go on til way after sunset. It was cold, wet, and dark and I couldn't wait to eat. And just to add to the fun, I was wearing 10 pound ankle weights too! 🙂  I also remember seeing a strawberry up there. Cute. I didn't know if someone left it or if it was growing- but probably not. I would still like to find the loop, so I will definitely go back when the fire closures have finished.
