The surprise late snowstorm the day before axed my planned Cucamonga hike, so I went for Strawberry Peak today. Road is closed beyond Red Box, felt lucky that I got to go at all! Slushy and muddy in spots, but a really nice hike overall. Quite a bit of snow melted just in the 4 hours I was hiking.
Summit had two guys in hammocks just chilling, very funny. There is also a collection of painted “Strawberry Peak” summit panels to choose from, with slightly differing elevation values.
Sadly, the summit registers had no lids and were full of water and soggy paper
