Fun Fact: I got curious about why it was named Strawberry peak and of course it wasn’t because there were actual strawberries growing on top. Turns out, it was because it looks like an enormous upside-down strawberry. Do you agree?

When we arrived at the parking lot at about 7 am, luckily the parking lot was not full yet but there were only a few parking spots left. The weather was slightly chilly but once we started hiking it got warmer fast.

The first mile or so was pretty easy and when we reached a three-way point, we were surprised to see a very steep hill ahead. We thought we had to go up that hill but thankfully that wasn't the way we needed to go. It was kind of hidden at first but then we saw a small trail on the left side of the steep hill and that was the path we took.

The next ~1.5 miles or so was still pretty easy but be careful because some of the pathways are quite narrow. Once we got to the end of the narrow pathway, the hard part began. Luckily, the weather was slightly cloudy so it wasn't too hot. We had to go up and down several hills, some inclines were harder than the other. Be aware of the spikey plants as I was poked many times. There were many false peaks. For a couple of times, when we thought we made it, just kidding, we still had one more to go. When we finally reached the top, the view was definitely worth it.

The view was breathtaking and I believe It was my first hike where I was above the clouds. We stayed up there for a while to rest, refuel and we took some pictures before going back. The way back was much easier as there were only one or two steeper inclines. However, the weather became a lot hotter and I should have brought my cap because I think I got sunburned. When we got back to the parking lot, somehow the weather became really windy and cold. Overall, although it was one of the harder hikes I’ve done, I really enjoyed it. It was not too crowded and there was plenty of space at the peak to allow social distancing as well.
