I heard this was one of the easier hikes to do. So I thought well sure let's get a peak put the way to ensure I can reach the sunrise. I succeeded, but it was not as easy as I had imagined. I went through Colby Canyon, and I felt like I had a Rock climbing introduction course lol.
Started this hike maybe closer to 330am. A couple steps into the trail I heard, idk what animal! Maybe the canyon made it worse because of the echo, maybe it was the chupacabbra… lion, owl idk. I almost turned away but waited to see if whatever was fighting for its life in whatevers throat settle. My friend I just kept on once it got quiet… he's camps all the time so I had trust we wouldn't die.
Now, I should've checked this trail a bit more before coming… I was not prepared. Not because of the difficulty but because of the thorns. I wore shorts, knowing that this hike is known for lack of shade, and that this weekend was going to be hot. Given that I'm a bit clumsy didn't help, so I came out of here looking like I fought that beast mentioned earlier.
Now, don't get me wrong I would definitely come back. Just not in shorts ahaha, the view and sunrise was worth every moment. And the way down, now that the sun was out made it easier.
