I had a great hike to Strawberry Peak. I drove up from San Diego and decided to hit two peaks on the trip. This was my day 1 hike after driving up from SD. I started around noon and finished about 3:30pm. I ran into a couple groups coming down from the peak. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. The sun was warm and the breeze was nice and cool. The trail is easy and well maintained until the last mile or so. Then there is a bit of scrambling and sandy washes to get up. It slowed me down a little but still wasn't bad! I got to share the peak with one other man who was completing his first hike since hip replacement. I painted a new sign for the peak and left it up there for future hikers. 🙂

After the hike I headed about 15 minutes further down SR-2 to Chilao Campground where a friend met me and we camped overnight. We woke up early the next morning and hiked Mount Wilson.
