I hiked this with my 10 year old son, Archie!  The in/out trail was well maintained and easy to follow.  The first 2/3 of it was actually quite easy while the last 1/3 was steep and took a bit of scrambling to navigate.  The trail had some snow and ice, but nothing that needed microspikes or any extra equipment.  I would recommend taking poles, sunscreen and wearing long pants on this one.  The views was amazing and there were a moderate number of people on the trail which made sense because the parking lot was full when we got there at 8am.  I also stupidly forgot to display my National Parks pass, but thankfully no ticket/fine.  This is a fun very doable hike and great for my first of the six pack!
