After two consecutive weekends of hiking Mt Baldy and Cucamonga, we decided to brave Baden-Powell. After researching the hike, the fact that the trail is a portion of PCT made us want to do it even more. We reached the trail head parking lot around 7.30 to find it almost full. After having our breakfast we started the hike as the sun was already starting to beat down on us. As everyone had warned the trail was steep from the start. The tree cover over the trail was a welcome relief and stayed that way almost to the top. I guess, the strenuous hikes we had done the two previous weekends made this one easier. That said it is not a easy hike by any means. With regular breaks and snacks we made it to the top a little after 10.30. The views from the summit were breathtaking. After clicking many pictures and resting under the shade of a tree we started our journey down. We had company most of the way as there were many fellow hikers. It took us about an hour and a half to get down. We thoroughly enjoyed the hike. The drive back home was not so enjoyable thanks to the traffic on our local freeways. It was stop and go for many miles.
