The hike up Mt. Wilson. Started from Chantry Flats. Went the Sturtevant trail, past the waterfall and to the camp. Up to the peak, and down the Winter Creek Trail.

As of April 4, this side of the mountain is open, with the Winter Creek Trail being the border between open and closed.

The Cosmic Cafe at the peak was open, and should be open on weekends and holidays through the summer.

From the peak, the burn scar from the Eaton fire is very evident from the parking lot all the way to the benches when the Winter Creek trail and Old Mt. Wilson trail meet. The footing is very loose and very rocky from the parking lot to the toll road. I'd almost recommend doing the Toll Road from the peak and bypassing this section of the trail.

Having done the entire loop, I'd recommend just doing the Sturtevant side to the peak, then backtracking back all the way to the parking lot or backtracking to Sturtevant Camp then cutting back over via the Zion trail to meet back up with the Winter Creek Trail.  This path will bypass all of the burn areas.
