Enjoyed this one! The views along the way are spectacular and from the top absolutely breathtaking. Felt like a “moderate” rather than “hard” hike (as others have mentioned the first mile and the last 1/4 mile to the top felt the most difficult), switchbacks heading up the hill along fire roads. The weather was warmer than expected (a nice surprise!) but not too hot…low- to mid-70s along the main trail by early afternoon (we were expecting low- to mid-60s based on weather report). If parking in the pullouts at the base of the trailhead, highly recommend parking on the side of the road facing the direction you'll be heading home, traffic on that road travels fast and the parking areas sit between two curves in the road so it's difficult to see/gauge oncoming traffic. (Also, note that there's one outhouse at the trailhead in the lot/pullout, and with switchbacks along the trail here's not much privacy if the need arises along the way.) We passed others on the trail but for the most part felt like we were hiking alone. On our way down (at mid-afternoon) people were rock climbing at a spot that's a little over a mile from the bottom trailhead. Highly recommend the hike overall, doable for any level hiker.
