I normally do my SoCal Six Pack of Peaks Challenge hikes in elevation sequence, but due to the brush fire back in July 2024 I couldn't do my fourth hike of Mount Baldy.  Thank God the brush fire has been contained, and the trails to Mount Baldy has been reopened! So, for my sixth and last hike for the SoCal Six Pack of Peaks Challenge, at the age of 60, I was able to hike Mount Blady!  Prior to hiking Mount Baldy, at the age of 60, I hiked Mount Whitney on August 18, 2024!  It was a beautiful sunny comfortable day at the summit of Mount Baldy.  I met a lot of hikers.  I met a 77 year old woman named Nancy from Taiwan who is always hiking Mount Baldy!  She told me at the age of 63 she hiked up Mount Whitney for the first time in her life!  Nancy has hiked Mount Whitney 32 times!  Due to knee replacement she can no longer hike Mount Whitney.  But, she is determined to attempt to hike Mount Whitney in 2025!  Nancy is an inspiration that nothing is impossible!  We can hike any high mountain at any age!  I hope to see her at Mount Whitney in 2025!
