I've hiked Sawmill Mountain in two to four inches of snow before. This hike was extremely difficult because of the amount of snow that has fallen on Mount Pinos and Sawmill Mountain. It was about one and one half foot of snow. The entire trail was covered with snow! I had to relied on the Gaia GPS app to help me navigate the trail. I had to cut through the switchbacks because it was difficult judging the trail and the steep slope. Once I reach the summit, the snow was off the trail. It was a beautiful sunny day. It was a hard work out. I sweated through out the whole hike.
