First time sunsetting a major peak since Mount Baldy five years ago. I’m usually at the trailhead ready to set off before sunrise. However, this day I happened to be in the area for a planned event that finished around 3 PM and was only 3 miles down the road. Summited around 5 PM and waited for a spectacular sunset. The temps dropped to 32°F when I finished but I was rewarded with a clear night sky showing all the familiar constellations. Will double-bag with Los Pinos on my next trip.
Peak # 5 in my quest for the San Diego #SixPackofPeaks Challenge.
