Slightly bumpy road conditions as you get closer to the trailhead. Trail starts in the trees with convenient signs along the way identifying the different types of trees you're seeing. The majority of the trail is exposed (which made for a hot hike since I got a later start than anticipated). The 1,558ft elevation gain is felt. Wouldn't do this again during summer/hot conditions – but certainly looking forward to doing it again in the fall.
