Originally we planned to do the Sitton Peak, however, it was closed due to a recent fire. Instead, we decided to drive to the San Jacinto peak where we started at 11am and finished at 8pm. The hike was intense since you’re going uphill most of the way. The weather was perfect in the beginning, not cold and not hot, however closer to the peak it gets really cold with lots of wind. I’m so thankful I brought my jackets! You’ll reach two false peaks with beautiful views. There were bits of snow closer to the peak. Made the mistake of not bringing hiking sticks, felt my knees straining down hill. We were in complete darkness for 3 hours. We started late and finished late but it was completely worth it.
