Started the hike from the Deer Springs trailhead. Very busy trail with many people coming up and down. Absolutely beautiful trail with parts of it reminding me of Yosemite. Thunder and dark clouds rolled in half way up with light sprinkles but safely made it to the top without getting barbequed by lightning. Took the wellness divide trail down and had the whole trail to ourselves with spectacular views. 19 miles later made it back to the trail head with aching feet. There were also two close calls with snakes on the trail (one of them being a rattlesnake).
