Purchased an Ohlone Wilderness Trail permit by mail a month ago https://apm.activecommunities.com/ebparks/Membership?package_id=4, had been looking forward to the hike, it was postponed due to rain.
We entered the OHLONE WILDERNESS REGIONAL PRESERVE (accessible only by way of the OHLONE WILDERNESS Trail) from the Sunol Wilderness Regional Preserve. Hiked about nine miles to reach the 3,817-foot Rose Peak, and then back.
It’s a perfect spring day to hike the trail, under the sun with a pleasant breeze, cattle graze in the wilderness among California poppies, mustard, goldfields and lupines.
