We had a beautiful final hike on Gaviota Peak. After being closed most of the year the trail was in great shape and we saw no more than maybe eight people all day. We got an early start and enjoyed the cool weather and beautiful views. We appreciated the obvious summit with great rocks for sitting and the views from the saddle below. And on the way down we saw very recent evidence of a murder kitty who had made it's way down the trail as we went up. We finished the hike with a dip in the hot springs and a trip to Figueroa Mountain Brewing for celebratory beers and lunch. Cheers!
