Missed this hike with my Six Pack hiking buddy so talked the entire family into going with me. It was perfect weather…cool, then it warmed up but as we closed in on the peak, the breeze was very chilly and refreshing! Very fun day to hike, as there was an ultra trail run happening, so we got to cheer on a smattering of runners. The trail was easy to find and follow, and when you hit the service road, it's a no brainer. The views were stunning. Mt Diablo floated in the haze, larger than life. We could make out the city, Mt. Tam, spied Mt. Lassen, snow capped, could barely make out the Sierra but there they were. The vineyards were multicolored – red, yellow, brown. And the new, post-fire growth was beautiful to see.
