Got started at 5:30am to avoid the heat – but it turned out to be a perfect day for a hike (thanks to some generous cloud cover). The road into the trailhead is sketchy, but I made it to the main lot with my little/low Prius – so it's doable!
The hike is a challenge, but so worth the effort. It's a beautiful hike. You'll be gifted great views almost throughout the hike (Mt. Baldy; San G, San Jacinto, Saddle Back, and eventually Big Bear Lake). The hike itself is a steady incline – consistent but not as intense as Baldy or San G, for example.
