I've done this hike a few times and it never ceases to amaze me how far it is, and how much “up up up” it entails. It was a perfect day for a Mount Wilson hike. Not too cold, not too hot, not too crowded. Lots of fun. Lots of angst. Plenty of tired legs. I enjoy hiking Wilson in the springtime, when things are still relatively green and we won't melt from the heat and sun. I continue to be amazed at how much more crowded this trail is than it used to be. I'm not sure if it's the increased popularity of hiking or the fact that Big Santa Anita Canyon is still closed. I'm just happy I was able to do it and can't wait to hike it again, once the temperatures cool down again.
