The road to the trailhead was bumpy, which was a precursor to the hike! We started just shy of sunrise, the weather was perfect. Once established on the trail, was split into our smaller groups according to speed. I was in the middle and later hiked a good portion on my own. It was a journey that mimicked life, some paths you take on your own, meet great people on the way that encourage you and off you go. It was a long and sometimes hard trek to hike-but I kept going! That voice in my head would pop up from time to time to tell me I couldn’t do this, but I kept going. My eye was on the prize…and I made it. An exhilarating journey.
