Gorgeous day with blue skies. I didn’t find it cold though there was snow covering up a lot of it. I started early at 6am and there were already a significant amount of people on the trail. I’d say a lot of people (minus the insanely fit) played leapfrog on the way up, huffing and puffing away and taking breaks to catch one’s breath. The ascent was brutal for those not used to elevation and as the day wore on and warmed up, the trail got mighty slippery, definitely needed micro spikes and poles, especially on the descent, it was slush city.
