The ponderosa pine forest provided a nice change of scenery – different than that of our other previous hikes. The trail was blanketed with a variety of wildflowers in a variety of bright colors ranging from purple to red and a bright yellow canvas for miles. The 360° views stretching from Humphreys Peak to the Grand Canyon, were breathtaking and so worth the climb! The weather was perfect – a good deal of the hike was open skies, so warm and sunny with some really nice cool breezes sweeping through. The paths were well manicured for the most part, which was nice, given the steady incline right off the bat and all the way up the summit.
