This was my first hike to Bishop Peak. Compared to the rest of the hikes in the Central Coast and SoCal line up this one seemed quite easy at 3.4 miles and 1,130 foot elevation gain. It was beautiful though, very green from the recent rains. The trail is well marked. There were a lot of college kids on the trail, the mood was fun and the other hikers respectful. I saw rope climbing at two places along the trail. I was grateful for this little nugget of a hike to get started hiking again for this six pack season.
