My tribe of bad@ss hiking girls and I tackled The Rock in support of raising funds and awareness for #ihikeformentalhealth
We took Ammo up to Lakes of the Clouds Hut ( living up its name ), shot over to tag Monroe, and then headed up to the summit.
Ammo can be humbling at times, but it never disappoints. Its challenging route mixed with breathtaking views makes it one of my favorite trails.
The forecast wasn't ideal… but then again, that's been the theme all summer long; why change it up now?
It was breezy and cloudy, but we were able to sneak in a few views, and we might have ignored TLC and went chasing after some waterfalls. ( It was so worth it! Pictures don't do them justice)
Top of Monroe was like a whole other world. It felt like you were looking into an abyss of nothingness; creepy and exciting all at the same time!
Old George played a couple of tricks on us as we had a couple of very brief bouts of rain, but nothing more of a … “oh, hey, I think it's raining”…and it's gone. So naughty!
So many great conversations, impromptu karaoke, and laughs along the way; this is what I love about this group! Thank you, ladies, for the memories, and I can't wait for our next adventure!
