With the road open to Belknap Crater, the wife and I decided to snag a permit and head out yesterday to tackle our 7th peak.  We previously hiked Black Butte two times, but it didn't appear to count towards the six peaks as we never received our finisher's, online badge.  It was also great to see Bleknap on a clear day.  Last year there were low clouds, it was raining and very windy.  I could barely see a thing.   I couldn't even see the crater.  I hiked up it now knowing where I was.  This time, it was a completely different story.  We saw everything, which was amazing.  This was my wife's first visit to Belknap.  She enjoyed it, but was tired of hiking on the lava rock.  I was too towards the end of our hike.  Belknap is a unique hike that I highly recommend.
