Excellent start to the Bay Area Challenge. My friend Crystal and I began our hike at Curry Point in the Mount Diablo State Park at 0745. Normally a 7.3 mile out and back. We had great cloud cover and cool temperatures all morning. We originally planned to hike over to North Peak and Mount Olympia from the Diablo Summit but decided to past on the that today. Instead, as we descended back down the way we came, we decided to take a detour over to Wall Point. Which looked cool on the map, but really wasn't much to talk about or see. From there we headed over to Sentinel Rock to check that out. This was a pretty cool and busy spot. After a quick climb up Sentinel Rock we headed back to the car at Curry Point. All totaled, with the added points of interest we ended up with 11 miles on the day.
Another great hike with great company and another great start to a Six Pack of Peaks Challenge.
