It was a perfect day. We arrived a little after 9 am, and were pleasantly surprised to find such clear trail markings. We’ve done Mt. Wilson once before but started at the Observatory and found ourselves off the trail as there was a lot of damage after the fire. Wildflowers were in bloom in all colors! It was really beautiful to see the spectrum of color on the trail. At the summit, we had lunch. Our freeze dried meals we pick up from REI are really convenient. Light weight, and just needs hot water. The dog carries his own kibble and water! We took a nice break for lunch and a little rest in the sun. It’s a 7 mile hike uphill so take your time getting up. The views are amazing and we couldn’t have had better weather.
